AKC has no rules or regulations regarding wings, those "things" that extend
out from the both sides of one or all of the jumps.
The wings can be used as free-standing or they can be attached to a jump by the
"snap" Ts. The outside frame of the wing is made from ¾"
PVC schedule 40 pipe. The interior of the wing is white plastic lattice and is
attached to the pipe with clamps. The wings are 19" wide, 34" high and are
angled at 45 degrees. The geometry that I use for these wings creates NO waste when
cutting the lattice for the wings.
The wings that I describe here use white plastic lattice. I mount the lattice inside of
a PVC pipe frame using a modified metal pipe straps that are cut in half
with bolt cutters. This mount setup creates a gap between the lattice and the pipe.
This is a little more work, but the wing looks the same when viewed from either side.
The modified straps with the additional holes that mount the lattice to the frame:
These metal straps hold the lattice firmly in place.
The wing is mounted to the post of a jump with the a pair of my snap clamps. There are
no wing nuts or bolts to fasten or loose. The clamp holds the wing firmly in place.
After mounting the lattice with the modified straps, you now have wings
[ but you cannot fly ].
Here is a wing secured to a single bar jump:
