Marker Poles

The AKC defines the corner markers to be at least 1 inch wide and 36" high and may be decorated to improve visibility. I refer to these items as 'marker poles' since their function is to mark a place or mark a defined area. They are either attached to the sides of the first and last sections of the broad jump or are free standing and placed as close as possible to those broad jump positions. Freestanding markers are recommended by the AKC.

For instance, the marker poles can also be used to:

  • define the start and/or end of an agility course
  • define the points for the obedience figure 8

The poles are 36" high and the base is an H design. All PVC components consist of  ¾" PVC which has an outside diameter of 1 inch to comply with the AKC specifications.

These marker poles are free standing and do not attach to anything.
