The leash holder is designed to keep the entrant's leash off of the ground and out of the dust. The holder has a round or square base made of wood. A wood base adds more weight [a few pounds] to the item and thus makes it more stable. A light base, such as the one used for marker poles, would not be adequate for the leash holder. The holder itself is ¾" PVC.
